BS5837 Tree Survey for Care Home Development — Cheshire Village
Client: Care Home Developer, Cheshire
Project Overview: A developer proposing a new care home in a Cheshire conservation area required a full BS5837 arboricultural planning package for a planning application to Cheshire East Council. The site contained several TPO-protected trees and hedgerows requiring assessment under the Hedgerow Regulations 1997.
Our Role: Urban Tree Management carried out a full BS5837 tree and hedgerow survey, produced a Tree Constraints Plan in AutoCAD, and delivered a complete AIA, TPP, and AMS meeting Cheshire East Council's rigorous validation requirements.
Findings & Recommendations:
- All trees and hedgerows surveyed and categorised
- Tree Constraints Plan produced — identified key design constraints
- Hedgerow assessment completed under Hedgerow Regulations 1997
- Full planning package produced to Cheshire East's standards
Outcome: Planning permission was granted with the arboricultural documents satisfying Cheshire East Council's requirements. Early Tree Constraints Plan production allowed the architect to refine the layout before submission — reducing arboricultural impact and the need for onerous conditions.
