Tree Safety Surveys for Multiple Site Owners Across the UK

THE CHALLENGE:

A national organisation with a large and geographically dispersed property portfolio across England required a professionally structured, consistently delivered tree safety survey programme covering multiple sites in different local authority areas.

The scale and geographical spread of the portfolio — spanning urban, suburban, and rural sites with varying tree populations and risk profiles — required careful programme planning to ensure all sites were covered within the required timescale while maintaining the consistency and technical standard needed to produce a genuinely defensible national audit trail of tree risk management.

OUR ROLE:

Urban Tree Management designed and delivered a national tree safety survey programme tailored to the specific requirements of the client's portfolio — assessing all trees at each site using the Visual Tree Assessment methodology, risk-rating using QTRA where elevated risk was identified, and recording all findings using GPS-enabled digital survey software.

Outputs were produced in a consistent format across all sites — georeferenced tree location plans, condition and risk ratings, and a prioritised works schedule for each site — allowing the client's estates team to manage tree risk across the full portfolio from a single, consistent dataset.

THE OUTCOME:

The client received a complete, nationally consistent tree safety survey dataset covering their full property portfolio — providing the audit trail of inspection, assessment, and recommended action needed to demonstrate duty of care compliance across all sites, and a clear prioritised works schedule allowing tree risk to be managed systematically and cost-effectively across a geographically dispersed estate. This project demonstrates Urban Tree Management's capability to deliver large-scale, multi-site tree safety survey programmes consistently and efficiently for national organisations managing complex property portfolios.
