Post‑Construction Tree Survey – Delamere Forest, Cheshire
Client:
- L & Q
- Portcullis Global Ltd
Project Type:
Following the completion of new homes on the edge of Delamere Forest in Cheshire, the client required a post‑construction tree survey to assess the health and condition of trees on site. The aim was to identify any trees at risk of damage during construction and ensure compliance with health and safety obligations.
Our Role:
We conducted detailed surveys using Pear Technology tree management software and GPS Trimble hardware to collect accurate tree data.
- All individual trees were visually assessed.
- Groups of trees and woodland areas were walked and mapped to provide a comprehensive inventory of the tree population.
Deliverables:
A Health & Safety file was prepared, collating all relevant information and documents for handover to the building’s owners, operators, and occupants.
A detailed Health & Safety report and plans were produced, including:
- An extensive tree schedule.
- Recommended tree works.
- Future re‑inspection frequency to ensure ongoing safety and compliance.
Outcome:
The survey provided the client with a clear understanding of the condition of retained trees, highlighted any risks, and set out proportionate management measures. This ensured that the development met its obligations under health and safety requirements while safeguarding the amenity value of trees adjacent to the new homes.
